What do you do when you have nothing left to say to someone? You just stand there, looking at me like that, but even bystanders know we have nothing more to say. It’s been a while and the new question poised is how to get around this silent wall; this anxious chasm we’ve built.
The answer still hasn’t come to us. We aren’t even sure we want it to, so we content ourselves with walking miles to avoid it. When did we decide that not speaking was a good idea?
